Are there any requirements before I purchase your Service?
Yes, There are three key requirements; you must have existing good demo quality or master quality material. The tracks must be originals, but samples are acceptable. The tracks shall not be “Live” recordings. This is to ensure that we only work with high quality records.

Do you charge a fee?
Yes. There is an initial Demo Review Fee. Please see our “Submission Process and Cost” page for full details. Should your material meet the required standards and our requirements you will be offered our Music Promotion Plus package. There are additional fees starting at £200 for this full service.

Are you a full artist management company?
No, we aim specifically to develope the unsigned Artist’s relationships with record companies and to seek out record label deals for the Artist, along with additional Press and Radio exposure to build the Artist’s profile. We will compile an EPK for the Artist and promote the Artist and their existing material to record labels and other media.

What is not included in your scope?
We don’t provide the following conventional management activities, such as, arranging or promoting tours or gigs, managing your finances, arranging recording sessions, etc.

Can we use other mangers, agents, resources while using Music Promotion Media’s service?
Yes, if you use our service, you are free to self promote using any other means including other management companies.

What happens if you secure the Artist a record deal, does the relationship with you end there?
Should we secure a record deal for the Artist, we would continue to represent the Artist in their best interest with the label for an agreed period. After this initial period, should the Artist which us to continue to act as their representative to the label, this would occur an additional fee (no obligation).

Do you take any payments from successful record deals?
We do not take any payments or royalties (from the Artist) that the Artist would normally receive as a result of any record deal. Additional payments we receive via other means are confidential.

Could you provide some history about Music Promotion Media?
Music Promotion Media has been trading since 2005, much of the first and second year was spent building industry relationships and focussing on demo reviews (instead of seeking record deals) for clients. The company have now moved away from demo reviews and now concentrate specifically on developing and seeking out record label deals for unsigned Artist’s.

Which labels do you work with?
It is company policy that we do not disclose our contacts or the labels we work with. We have spent many months establishing these relationships and are not prepared to risk damaging our relationship with them by disclosing confidential information. This is to prevent the record labels receiving unwanted calls and packages. But we do supply you with reports of submissions made.

How much of your time it committed to each Artist?
Naturally we are committed to all our Artists and we manage that process internally.

What track record of successes does your company's service have?
We presently have an excellent success rate of more than 60%. It is very competitive and naturally we cannot guarantee any success, but we do promise to get your music out there.

Will I retain copyright ownership of my material?
Copyright is automatic in the UK. For any original material, your private right of copyright shall be maintained and recognised.

What quality should my demo recoding be?
Your Demo should be of good “Demo Quality” or “Master Quality. It is obviously advantageous to have a high quality demo, as it will make your demo stand out from the crowd. You are selling a product; the better it is the easier it is to sell.

What is the preferred format for my demo?
If you are submitting your demo by post, the preferred format is on CD. But you may also email us a website link to your music. Please only send music files by email if requested by a member of the Music Promotion Media team.

What kind of companies in the music industry are you passing my material on to?
For clients only, we will predominately forward your music to record labels. We will also forward tracks to magazines (for reviews) and radio stations, as deemed appropriate.

What positions do your contacts at record labels hold?
In general it will be the A & R contacts, but it does vary depending on the organisational structure of the record label.

How will I be kept up to date with progress of submissions made to record labels?
We will keep you updated with reports of submissions made. These reports will detail the record labels we have approached.

Can I contact the record labels detailed in the submission report?
We recommend that you do not chase or hassle record labels for responses, as this will do neither of us any favours. We issue the reports to evidence the progress of submissions made, it is not an invitation to contact them.

How will I know when a label is interested in my music?
The record label will contact one of our team. We will then obtain the Offer details from the record label and contact you.

Do you send a CD to every record label you approach?
No. This method of submission is very unproductive. Generally we will invite labels to listen to the Artist’s tracks at our website’s Featured Artist page. Some labels request CD's which we cater for,

What will the EPK (Electronic Presentation Kit) contain?
A tailored EPK is produced for every Artist client. It is produced using information supplied by you. It will include information about the artist / band, biog, reviews, press / magazine articles, photo shots, gig dates, etc or any other relevant information.

A record label has contacted me after you submitted my demo, should I tell you?
Yes. We are happy for the record labels to communicate with you directly, but we would appreciate it if you kept us informed of any news.

Are all demos forwarded to Labels?
Only demos we believe have a good chance of being successful and that meet the commercial and market requirements are forwarded to labels. This is to maintain our good reputation.

Can I download a MP3 file to your email address?
Please only send us Music Files if requested by a member of the Music Promotion Media team. Please ensure the format is either a Windows Media Audio (WMA) or MP3 type files. Emails containing files over 10M will be rejected.

How should I pack my demo if sending it by post?
Only send us a demo by post if requested by a member of the Music Promotion Media team. Your demo should be sent in a suitably sized padded envelope. Seal it securely with tape along all edges and openings and put a return address on the envelope. Please do not send boxed packages. Please ensure that there is sufficient postage paid for the size and weight of the package, visit http://www.royalmail.com.
